The instructions below are open to adjustment and the ratios or any steps within the method can be altered as you like. These instructions have been put together from my experience mixing Capital Kava powder to create a strong mix.
Method: For 1 litre of Kava juice
To mix less or more, just adjust the weight/volume.
Step 1: Place half of 125g of kava into the strainer net and then place the strainer net with the kava into a large bowl with 1L of water (for the best results, use three-quarters cold water and one-quarter boiled water).
Step 2: Massage the kava in the net, releasing the kava lactones, making the water turn a dark brown colour. Repeat the massaging and squeezing of the kava in the strainer net until the water has an oily glaze on top of the water. 5-10min.
Step 3: Pour the mixture into a second bowl through the finer filter bag. Close off the top of the filter bag, then massage or squeeze the filter.
Step 4: Put aside the squeezed left-over kava that caught in the strainer net and filter bag. (Note: You can dry the used kava fibres and sprinkle them over your garden, which works as a great insect repellent for your garden). Clean your strainer bag and filter bag under running water and let them dry before using them again.
Step 5: You should now have a bowl of kava juice you can drink.
Pour a cup of the kava juice and KNOCK IT BACK in one go! Now sit back, relax and feel the soothing effects of the best Vanuatu Kava in Australia, Capital Kava.
